The 2009 DC Walk to Cure Diabetes has a new home…Nationals Park! The Walk to Cure Diabetes will be the first charity walk held at the new baseball stadium and will allow for some fun and exciting changes. Every team will get to hear their name over the Stadium Speakers and have the rare opportunity to cross Home Plate!

The new Walk Route will include two laps around the exterior of the stadium with the final lap on the warning track and the finish line at Home Plate! Walkers will get to feel like major league baseball players at the batting cages and Rock Stars in the Sony Playstation area. There will also be photo opportunities with all of the Nationals “Presidents” and the Geico Gecko. And of course there will be treats to enjoy thanks to our generous in-kind donors and live entertainment provided by The School of Rock!

And that’s not all…a group of lucky walkers will even have the opportunity for an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the park including the locker rooms, press box and dugout! More details will be included in the weekly team captain progress reports so be sure to register as soon as possible so you don’t miss out on any of the exciting updates!
